Looking for Help? – Court Link Support Services and Rehabilitation

There are a variety of Court support services which can assist you alongside our legal representation whilst your matter progresses.  It is a program that commenced in November 2017 and replaced the Integrated Court Referral Program.

Court Link is a voluntary.  It is a 12 week program that provides case management to address issues that have contributed to your offending.  Court link assists regardless of what you are charged with.

Case management includes developing a specialised plan to progress your matter alongside Court guidance and counselling.

Court Link also assists people in making meaningful referrals to a number of support services.  These support services include referrals for housing, employment, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, physical and mental health and other social needs.

A specialised court oversees your progress providing assistance and guidance to help you meet your goals while you are on this program.

A Magistrate can consider your positive engagement in the program when determining a sentence. There is no penalty for not engaging with the service. And you don’t have to plead guilty to charges to access the service.

How do I apply?

It is available at most Courts, including Brisbane, Cairns, Ipswich, Southport, Caboolture, Redcliffe, Maroochydore and Mount Isa. To be eligible for this program you must complete the referral form, be on bail and meet the requirements for entry.  The entry requirements are that you have any of the following:-

  • drug and/or alcohol problems;
  • a mental and/or physical health condition;
  • impaired decision making capacity; and
  • homelessness or the risk of homelessness.
